The International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade (IIFET) conference will take place in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2016. The 18th edition of this international Conference has the theme of "Challenging new frontiers in the global seafood sector – a Northern Enlightenment". 

Primefish project is represented by chairing a special session on the project topics named: “Creating shared value through stakeholders’ involvement to strengthen the seafood competitiveness”, Wednesday, 13th from 13:30 until 15:30 in the Fleming room.

This session will be a dynamic event which will combine speeches and questions and answers with a “theoretical part” where we should answer the question “how to develop an innovative market oriented prediction toolbox?”, and a “practical part”, focuses on provide answers on “how to strengthen the competitiveness of European Seafood markets?”.

CEO of the Scottish White Fish Producers’ Association (SWFPA), the largest fisheries association in Scotland and many years of fruitful collaboration in several research projects

Sveinn Margeisson (MATIS)

CEO of Matís, one of the main Icelandic Food and Biotech R&D institute and with an extensive experience and background on promoting market-based R&D innovations.

Guðmundur Stefánsson (MATIS)

Coordinator of the project with more than 20 years of experience on food product development and R&D activities.

Rosa Chapela (CETMAR)

Lead of the “Stakeholder interaction” working group and with an extensive experience on marine and maritime socioeconomic issues including projects focuses on stakeholder engagement and involvement.

Francis Murray (Univ. Stirling)

In charge of the “Seafood Value Chain analysis” group and a broad experience in the inter-disciplinary research in aquaculture sector.

Cristina Mora (Univ. Parma)

She leads the analysis of “Boom and bust cycles” of seafood and the case of Italian aquaculture, being and expert on food marketing.

Paul S Valle (KONTALI)

Lead of the “Economic performance and prices” working group. He works closely to aquaculture stakeholders enforcing the collection, analysis and reporting of relevant data.

Olavur Gregensen (Syntesa)

He is charge of bringing the PrimeFish project outcomes to the stakeholders through a decision-support framework (PrimeDSF) and he has a broad experience in research projects from FP6, FP7 and H2020 programmes.

Olia Untilov (Univ. Savoie)

She is member of the leading group related to the “products, consumers and seafood market trends” working with survey methodologies, stakeholder interaction and consumer behavior.
